Cathy Vaught - Candidate for City Council Post 2 - Fayetteville
Cathy, a 20-year US Army veteran, has been a member of the FCRP for the past three years. She has been very active in the Women's Club, most notably forming and heading their Armed Services committee, a convention delegate, a Precinct Chair and as FCRP Secretary. She is also a member of Courageous Community Church in Tyrone, and is active in their prayer ministry and Courageous Coalition community action group.
As a 28 year resident of both Clayton and Fayette Counties and a Fayetteville city resident for four years, Cathy has witnessed the vast increase in population, residential and commercial growth.
Among the issues that are important to Cathy are:
- Intelligent growth with a supportive infrastructure for this rapidly growing city. This includes limiting the construction of townhouses, apartments and mixed-use developments that negatively impact existing neighborhoods and their residents.
- A city where businesses can thrive.
- Good use of our existing commercial spaces and real estate, to include effective and realistic repurposing of vacated, existing structures.
- Discouragement of purchasing existing single family homes solely for use as short-term rental property. This invites more crime.
- Retention of as much green space as possible.
- A city that supports traditional family life and values.
- Complete support of our city law enforcement, to include adequate funding, equipping and training.
- Use of security grade, serialized paper ballots for future municipal elections.
- If you are a Fayetteville resident and live within the city limits, please remember to vote for Cathy Vaught, Post 2, Fayetteville City Council this November 7th. Early voting begins October 16th and continues through November 3d. Please do not stay at home during this election season just because these are municipal elections. Every vote counts!

GOALS
